welcome to the often-silent sisterhood.   If you’re reviewing it out of curiosity, we hope this
book offers some insight into the decisions and choices, heartaches and joys, and amazing
blessings that so many families experience when they set out on the journey of infertility.

Co-authoring this book about our two families and how we helped each other along
our journey to parenthood is just another stop along our families' voyage together.  Little did
we dream 14 years ago, as we each sat in our fertility doctor's office, each oblivious to the
other, that our chance meeting would change the course of our lives and our families' lives forever.

Over the years, we've told our story to various family and friends.  Each time we met anticipation
and squeals of, "Are you kidding?  Then what happened?"  Thus, we knew we needed to share our story.

One of us sent a husband off to protect our country in the Persian Gulf and turned to
a computer for comfort.  The other was spurred to continue the thoughts and words being
put to paper about our unique story of generosity and sisterhood.

We wrote alternating chapters to best offer you our individual perspectives.  We hope and believe
our story will make you laugh and cry and experience the roller-coaster ride of making a dream come true.
